Most screen readers can navigate the platform, though some symbols and notation may not render perfectly.

Sparx Reader

We try to encourage students to learn and practise reading carefully. However, we acknowledge that in specific circumstances the text being read out loud could be a useful tool to support specific students, for example, those with a visual impairment. In these cases, most third-party screen reading software should work alongside Sparx Reader.

Frequently asked questions

Can I print homework for a student instead of having them complete it online?

Due to the personalised nature of Sparx, homework must be completed online. However, we offer various accessibility features to support students using the online platform.

Do Sparx's accessibility settings transfer across devices?

Yes, accessibility settings are linked to the student's account, so settings will apply across all devices.

Can students access Sparx Reader on a Kindle?

Sparx Reader is compatible with any device with standard browsers (e.g. Chrome, Safari, Firefox). As these browsers are generally not available on Kindles, it is not possible to use Reader on these devices.

Do the text accessibility settings also apply in the Sparx Reader Test?

Yes, students can apply the same settings when sitting the Sparx Reader Test.

Do you offer larger print versions of Sparx Curriculum assessments?

These are not available to download on the Sparx Curriculum site; however, these can be provided on request.
